Genocide Survivors Foundation is very pleased to share that our Founder and President, Jacqueline Murekatete, was named among New York University (NYU) Changemakers of the Year honorees.

About NYU Alumni Changemakers

Each year NYU recognizes alumni who have made a positive impact in the world because of their significant contributions in various fields. The university honors a small number of its graduates as NYU Alumni Changemakers. Chosen by the NYU Alumni Association Board from crowdsourced nominations, the selected alumni are the best of the best: entrepreneurs and visionaries who save lives, reduce suffering, and bring hope to the marginalized.

Recognized for Her Work in Human Rights and for Genocide Prevention

For 2019, Ms. Murekatete was honored for her contribution to human rights generally and Genocide prevention education specifically as well as for her efforts to support survivors of genocide through Genocide Survivors Foundation (GSF).
