Karen was drawn into nonprofit work when she saw the overwhelming advantages some children have based on the economic circumstance of their birth. In an effort to create change, Karen has served her community in numerous capacities over the past 20 years to improve the educational futures of children and youth in the Los Angeles area.

After meeting Jacqueline Murekatete, Karen was enthusiastically involved in raising funds to build a Community Center for youth in Rwanda. Karen participated in the Grand Opening of the Community Center and looks forward to working with GSF to teach students the essential connections between history and the choices they confront in their own lives, and how those choices can empower human rights changes in the future.

Karen is the owner of Karen Gruber Consulting which provides small business consulting in the fields of advertising and financial management.
