GSF partnered with Church of the Advent Hope to organize a commemoration program for the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The program was organized under the church’s peace ministry and featured survivor testimonies, a sermon, songs, candle lighting and other commemorative activities.
At the program, GSF founder reminded the audience of the need not just to remember for the sake of remembering but to actively remember. She told audience members that the best way they can honor the victims of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda including her own parents, siblings, and other extended family and friends who were among the more than a million people murdered in the Genocide, is by getting involved in preventing Genocide today and supporting those who have survived.
