GSF Honored to Co-Sponsor Upcoming Conference on Gender-Based Violence During Genocide

Genocide Survivors Foundation (GSF) is honored to be one of the co-sponsors for the upcoming conference on gender-based violence during genocide and other forms of mass atrocity crimes.

Titled, “ Women, Not Victims: Moving Beyond Sexualized Atrocities During Genocide,” the conference is organized by the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County and will take place on March 13th, 2016, 10am-4pm  at the Nassau Community College.

The conference will focus on various forms of sexual violence during genocide and other forms of mass atrocity crimes and will feature speakers on the Holocaust, Rwanda, Guatemala, Namibia, and Democratic Republic of Congo. The speakers will include both survivors as well as other experts in the field of genocide and mass atrocities who will share their various experiences and perspectives on the nature of gender-based violence during mass atrocities, how it can be prevented, and how survivors can be supported to live health and productive lives.
